Wheel bolt foralloy wheel

Wheel bolt forsteel wheel

Clean thewheel and wheel hub contact surfa‐
ces.
#
Vehicles with Super Single tires: first
install theadapterfor thenarrowsparewheel
on thewheel hub.
#
Slide thewheel whichistobere-installed
ontothe wheel hub or theadapterfor the
sparewheel and push it on.
Vehicles with light alloywheels
#
Use thesuitable shortwheel bolts forthe
sparesteel wheel found in thevehicle tool kit.
#
Screw in thewheel bolts until they arefinger-
tight.
Wheels with wheelnuts
#
Front wheels withwheel nut cover: press the
wheel nut coverontothe wheel nuts.
#
Screw in threewheel nuts overthe fixing
discs of thewheel nut cover.
#
Turn thewheel so that thewheel bolts arein
themiddle of theholes.
#
Screw in theremaining wheel nuts.
#
Slightly tightenall thewheel nuts.
Lowering thevehicle afterawheel change
&
WARNING Risk of injury through incor‐
rect tightening torque
Thewheelscould come loose if thewheel
bolts or wheel nuts arenot tightened to the
prescribed tightening torque.

Make surethe wheel bolts or wheel
nuts aretightened to theprescribed
tightening torque.
#
If youare notsure, do notmovethe
vehicle. Consult aqualified specialist
workshop and have thetightening tor‐
quecheckedimmediately.

The newwheel has been installed

Observe thenotes on raising thevehicle
(/ page232).
Vehicles with rear wheel drive
Only use themiddle rodand thepumpleverrod
withthe largestdiameterfor thejackasalug
wrenchextension. Only insert themiddle rodon
thelug wrench, and alwaysasfar as it will go.
Otherwise, therods could bend and deformso
muchthat they can no longer be usedaspump
levers forthe jack.
Vehicles with Super Single tires: if youmount
thesparewheel to therear axle, do notexceed
themaximum speed of 34 mph(55 km/h) and
themaximum distance of 62 miles (100 km). Oth‐
erwise, thetransmission could be damaged due
to thedifferent rotational speedsofthe wheels.

Using thepumplever, slowly turnthe drain
screw on thejackapproximatelyone revolu‐
tion and carefullylower thevehicle.
#
Place thejacktoone side.
#
Pull therod withthe smallestdiameteroff the
pumplever.
The shortened pump leverservesasalug
wrenchextension.
#
Startingwiththe middle rod, slide thelug
wrenchextensionasfar as it will go ontothe
lug wrench.
