System expansions
For cooling, protection against fire, and in order to comply with EMC (electromagnetic
compatibility) regulations, you must refit the slot cover.

► Slide the slot cover into the slot (1).
► Press on the reta ining c lip until it you feel it engage (2).
► For long PCI boards: Fit the upper part of th e card holder at the f ront fan
again (see "
Installing the front fan", Page 50).
► Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 37).
If you have installed o r removed a PCI board, please check the relevant PCI
slot settings in the BIOS Setup. If necessary, cha nge the settings. Further
information is provided in the PCI board documentation.
Upgrading main memory
► Open the casing (see "Opening the casing", Page 36).

► If the bays are located below the hard disk fan: R emove the hard disk fan
(see "

► If the bays are located below the fan at the power sup ply: R emove the fan at the
power supply (see "

► Upgrade the main memory according to the description in the manual for the mainboard.
► If the bays are located below the fan at the power supply: Install the fan at the
power supply a gain (see "
Installing the rear fan", Page 67).
► If the bays are located below the hard disk fan: Install the hard disk fan again
(see "
Install the hard disk fan", Page 69).
► Close the casing (see "
