Replacing the processor
Open the casing (see "Opening the casing", Pa ge 36).
Remove th e heat sink (see "
Removing the heat sink", Page 65).
Replace the processor as described in the manual for the mainboard.
Install the heat sink again (see "
Install ing the heat sin k", Page 65).
Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing" , Page 37).
Installing and removing heat sinks
Removing the heat sink
The shape an d position of the heat sink are device-dependent.
Open the casing (see "
Opening the casing", Pag e 36).
Remove the hood of th
e hard disk fan and the hard disk fan itself (see
"
Remove the hard dis
k f an", Page 68).
Undo the screws on the heat sink.
Lift the heat sink o
ut of the casing.
Yo u can now replace the processor.
Installing the h
eat sink
Open the casing (see "Opening the casing", Pa ge 36).
Reinstall the
heat sink so that the air ow is fed towards the back of the
casing (see ar
row on the heat sink).
Tighten the screws.
Reinstall th
e hard disk fan an d the hood of the hard disk fan (see "
Install
the hard disk
fan", Page 69).
Never attac
h or detach fans during operation. T his can cause problems
controlli
ng the mainboard fan .
