Temporary Errors
The following are lists of temporary errors which can be
recovered by operators.
■Paper Feeding Errors
The letter "J" and an error code appear alternately
■Transport Lock, Cover Open, and Print Errors
The letter "U" and an error code appear alternately.

J0 Scanning stopped
to prevent paper
damage.
1 Remove the jammed document.
For details, refer to "7.1 Paper Jam"
(page 92).
2 Check if the document is suitable for
scanning by ADF.
For details, refer to "2.3 Documents
for Scanning" (page 41).
J1 Paper jammed.
J2 Multifeed
occurred.
Press the [Send to] button on the
operator panel to eject the documents.
J8 A sensor error
occurred.
Open the ADF and clean the eight
document sensors.
For details, refer to "Chapter 5 Daily
Care" (page 72).
Display Description Action
U0 A transport lock
error occurred.

Unlock the transport lock switch.

U4 The ADF was
opened during
scanning.
Close the ADF and reload the
documents.
U5 The print
cartridge cover of
the imprinter was
opened during
scanning.

imprinter is
installed)
Close the print section of the imprinter,
and load the document again.
U6 The print
cartridge of the
imprinter is not
loaded.
(only when
imprinter is
installed)
