The following software elements are typical:
• DOWNLOAD.BIN - operating software
• SRAM1 - this is the previous version of the configuration
• SRAM2 - this is the current version of the configuration
• CNFGLOAD.CMP - compressed configuration file used for upgrades or copying the
configuration to a new device

ESTARTING THE
DS2000-TS
There are three commands for restarting the DS2000-TS via the Supervisor. These are reached from the
Systems Functions menu by selecting <2> Restart. The Warm Restart and Reinitialize options will reboot
the DS2000-TS and restart active operations. However, they differ in what source is used for the active
configuration file during and after the restart operation. Select the desired option by placing the cursor over
the Restart Type field, select the version of software to boot with (shows all versions of software on the
system), and scroll down and enter the Root password to authorize the operation. Then scroll down to the
Process selections field and press <Enter>.
C.3.1 Cold Restart
This option is used to reboot the DS2000-TS system. The system will reboot using FACTORY
DEFAULTS; all pre-configured options will be lost. Use EXTREME CAUTION as invoking this
command remotely will cause loss of contact across a network. Since this affects the system’s
availability for a brief period, the command requires the current ROOT password to be entered to
ensure authorized usage. When Cold Restart is toggled, the menu presents a list of all operating
system versions presently available in the Flash Memory. The operator can select which version the
DS2000-TS should use when restarting by moving the cursor to the Code Version field and pressing
<Enter>. This will toggle between the oldest and the newest versions of code stored on the system.
