5 - 12 Section 5-1 - Overview
5-3-6 SYSCONML
This block has 4 main functions: front-end control, mid-processing for MLA2, post processing for display
and user interface control.
Front-end Control: This is to control the front beamfomer assys. This includes as: Probe interface,
assy version reading interface, scan control for transmit/receiving beamforming.
Mid-processing: Basically this procesing is to decode the encoded receiving siganls, demodulate
the echo signals with carrier, compensate the frequency and gain based on time, and compress the
enveloped detected signals logorithmically for display. This processing is executed by 2
CHACOMs.
Post Processing, and User Interface: SYSCONML Assy has high performance SOM (system on
module) which performs post processing for 2D image, Color flow and Doppler with mid-processed
data, and handless user inputs through operation console.
