• The equipment is to be neither sprayed
with water nor placed in water.
• Do not use detergents or solvents.
These could cause irreparable damage
to the equipment.
Changing the Reel (Picture 11)
1. Switch off the engine.
2. Place the equipment on the ground and
ensure that no fuel leaks and that the
equipment is safely supported.
3. Unscrew the reel capsule (16) clock-
wise
by hand. To make the work
easier, the cutting head holder (19) and
bottom ange (33a) can be locked us-
ing the enclosed metal pin (see also
picture 6).
4. Pull off the reel cover (43) and remove
the thread reel (17) from the reel cap-
sule (16).
5. To install the new reel, thread both
thread ends through the eyes (44) in the
reel capsule. Press the reel into the reel
capsule. Ensure that the springs are sit-
ting correctly here (45).
6. Replace the reel cover (43) and press
it into the slots in the reel capsule
(16); it clicks in audibly.

7. Screw the reel capsule (16) anticlock-
wise
onto the cutting head holder
(19).
8. Trim the thread cord to approx. 13 cm
in order to strain the engine less in the
start and warm-up phase.
Cleaning the Air Filter
(Picture 12)
Never operate the equipment
without the air lter otherwise
dust and dirt enter the engine
and result in damage to the ma-
chine. Keep the air lter clean.
1. Switch off the engine.
2. Press the locking mechanism (46) on
the lter housing (47) and fold away
the air lter cover (5).
3. Remove the air lter (48) from the lter
housing (47).
4. Clean the lter with soap and water
and allow it to dry in the air.
Never use petrol!
5. Reinstall the lter in reverse order.
Replace the air lter if it is worn,
damaged or heavily soiled.
