ARC detection, otherwise known as flashover
detection, detects fast voltage or current
transients that are not normally detected. Arcing
is usually an indicator of poor withstanding
insulation, electrode gaps or other insulating
problems that cause temporary spikes in current
or voltage during ACW and DCW testing.
There are three ARC detection settings: OFF,
ON & CONT, ON & STOP.
The ON & CONT setting will detect arcs over
the ARC current level and continue the test, the
ON & STOP setting will stop the test when an
arc is detected.
ARC mode settings only apply to both ACW
and DCW tests.
