AXIS500 Manual Instructions
Alignment of Two Steered Front Axles
7.3 Toe Alignment of the Second Axle
• Mount the measuring heads onto second
axle.
• Direct the left laser beam to the toe scale in
front and set the entire scale at zero without
changing the adjusted scale length (L).
(Illustration 31)
• Turn the laser to the rear and also set this
entire scale to zero. The toe scale length (L)
has not changed (Illustration 28).
• The distance (A) of the toe scales has not
changed (Illustration 28).
• Turn the laser on the right-hand side to the
front.
• Read the value.
Example:
1 long scale line inward. Direct the laser
beam to the rear. Read the value. 1 long
scale line outward. Difference: 2mm toe in =
total toe
• Undo the toe rod searing nuts and turn. The
desired value to be set is zero.
• Turn the toe rod until identical values are
indicated front and rear.
Important:
On the left hand side the laser point must
remain permanently at zero.
• Tighten the toe rod.
Now both front axles have a toe value of zero.
