î Install the oil strainer screen, spring and oil
strainer screen cap. Install the drain plug.
At draining: 0.70 litre
î Fill crankcase with the recommended grade
of oil:
At engine disassembly: 0.80 litre
î Install the oil level dipstick.
î Start the engine and let it idle for 2-3
minutes. Stop the engine and ensure that
the oil level is at the upper level mark on the
oil level dipstick with the scooter upright on
flat level surface. Ensure there are no oil
leaks.

CAUTION
î When running in very dusty conditions, oil
changes should be performed more
frequently than specified in the maintenance
schedule.
î Engine oil quality is the chief factor affecting
engine service life. Replace and top-up the
engine oil as specified in the maintenance
schedule (page 50).

WARNING
î Used engine oil may cause skin disease if
repeatedly left in contact with the skin for
prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely
unless you handle used oil on a daily basis,
it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your
hands with soap and water as soon as
possible after handling used oil.
î Please dispose used engine oil in a manner
that is compatible with the enviro n m e nt.
We suggest you take it in a sealed container
to your local recycling center or service
station for reclamation. Do not throw it in
the trash or pour it on the ground or down a
drain.
FINAL DRIVE OIL REPLACEMENT
The final drive oil should be replaced as per
the maintenance schedule. Replacement
requires mechanical skill. It is suggested to get
it replaced by authorized Hero Moto Corp
workshop.
î Park the scooter on its main stand.
î After the oil is completely drained, install the
oil drain bolt with a new sealing washer.
î Remove the drain bolt, slowly turn the rear
wheel and drain the oil.
î Start the engine and let it idle for 3-5
minutes.
î Stop the engine and wait for 2-3 minutes.
î Remove the oil level check bolt.
