Check the battery electrolyte. The electrolyte
level must be maintained between the upper
(1) and the lower (2) level marks on the side
of the battery. If the electrolyte level is low,
remove battery. Remove the battery filler caps.
Maintenance
Carefully add distilled water to the upper level
mark using a small plastic funnel.
12V-5Ah Conventional Battery
Location
Specification:
The battery is located behind the front center
cover.
î Dispose off used/old battery to authorised
dealer only.
î Insufficient electrolyte results in sulphation
& plate damage.
î Use only distilled water in the battery. Tap water
may shorten the service life of the battery.
NOTE
î Do not attempt to start or drive the scooter
without a charged battery, it can cause fusing
of the bulbs and permanent damage to certain
electrical components.
î Turn the ignition switch "OFF" before
checking or replacing the fuse to prevent
accidental short-circuiting.
î When checking battery electrolyte level or
adding distilled water, make sure the
breather tube is connected to the battery
breather outlet.
CAUTION
FUSE REPLACEMENT
The fuse holder (1) is placed adjacent to the
battery which consists of main fuse and spare
fuse.
The specified fuses are 10A
Fuse : Main fuse (2) 10A
Battery installation
î Connect the battery breather tube.
î Check the bolts and other fasteners are
secure.
î Reinstall in the reverse order of removal. Be
sure to connect the positive (+)ve terminal
first, then the negative (-)ve terminal.
Battery Removal
î Remove the front center cover (page 35).
î Disconnect the battery breather tube (7).
î Remove the battery.
î Remove the battery band (3) from the boot
band clip (4).
î Disconnect the negative (-)ve terminal lead
(5) from the battery first, then disconnect
the positive (+)ve terminal lead (6).
