Preventive Maintenance
WARNING:
Only approved persons are permitted to service the bed. Service done
by unapproved persons may cause injury or equipment damage.
Only approved persons are permitted to service the bed.
Preventive Maintenance Schedule
The table that follows is a twelve month recommended maintenance schedule
(see table 6-1 on page 6-4).
Table 6-1. Preventive Maintenance Schedule
Function Procedure
Battery backup See that the batteries are fully charged (this provides the
longest life).
Bed frame Use soap, water and medium strength cleaners to clean the
bed frame. (Do not pressure clean the bed.)
Bed (parts that move) Lubricate all moving, sliding parts, and hinge points. Use a
light weight lubricant. (Do not use silicone based lubricants.)
Castors Examine the casters for cuts, wear, tread life, etc. Adjust as
needed.
Fasteners Examine all fasteners for correct fit, position, and tightness.
Metal surfaces Examine all surfaces and remove the user-made sharp or
burred areas with a metal file. Apply touch-up paint where
required (use the correct color match).
