Before using the instrument, verify that it oper-
ates normally to ensure that no damage
occurred during storage or shipping. If you find
any damage, contact your authorized Hioki dis-
tributor or reseller.
Confirm that the instrument chassis, shut-
ter, test leads, and clips are not damaged.
Do not used if damaged.

20 M resistor that provides a voltage of
5 kV
High-voltage meter with an input resis-
tance of 1,000 M or more, and capable
of measuring up to 5.5 kV DC

3.1 Pre-Operation Inspection
Before using the instrument, make sure
that the insulation on the test leads and
cables is undamaged and that no bare
conductors are improperly exposed.
Using the product in such conditions
could cause an electric shock, so contact
your authorized Hioki distributor or
reseller for replacements.
Make sure the terminals are clean and dry.
Wipe with a dry cloth to remove any
moisture, since measurement errors may
result if moisture is present.
