Look for cracks or damage. Replace the
gasket (2) and apply a thin film of wheel
bearing grease.
Remove the Timing Chain tensioner and
slowly release the tension on the
tensioner. Make sure that there is smooth
movement of the tensioner inside the
housing.
While holding the rod in wind the adjuster

stops.
With the screwdriver still inserted, install
the tensioner with a new gasket, with the

combustion chamber cleaner/solvent. Be
careful around the spark plug threads and
valve seats.
Look for scratches or damage. If
necessary replace the Cylinder head and
Cylinder head cover as a set.
