Save Reference Files
“Save Reference Files” is normally greyed out. It is only turned on when the system is in
“Service Mode”.
Advanced Tools Option
The Advanced tools offer various options to configure aspects of the software such as post-
processing and configuration options.
Auto Save On/Off
When “Auto Save” is “on”, all subsequently acquired images are saved to the database. The
files are written to a Data Directly defined in the configuration file.
X-Ray Calibration/Exposure Set-up
This is placed under Advanced Tools. The “X-Ray Calibration/Exposure Setup” aids the user in
determining the proper exposure time for a selected kV setting for best image quality. Please
refer to section 5.2.0 and 5.2.1 for a more detailed description.
Preshot AEC Exposure Setup
The Faxitron Path system utilizes Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) to provide the best
possible image quality with a single press of the Start X-Ray button. The software utilizes a
Preshot exposure to calculate the optimal exposure kV and time settings. The Preshot is a short,
typically 2-3 seconds, x-ray exposure. The software analyzes the results to determine the kV
and time needed to produce the best image quality. The Preshot AEC Exposure is configured
at the factory and is turned on by default.
“Preshot AEC Exposure Setup” allows the user to adjust the system for particular imaging
requirements or to compensate for system aging.
To access the “Preshot AEC Exposure Setup” dialog go to the Top Menu Bar, select “Tools”,
“Advanced Tools” the “PRESHOT AEC Exposure Setup”. See Figure 5.4.19
