Original Contrast
“Original Contrast” restores the image contrast levels. This serves the same purpose as the
Original Contrast button in the Window Level and Contrast tool. See Section 5.4.1 and Figure
5.4.3.
Invert
“Invert” causes the displayed image to become inverted or reversed. Inverting as image
reverses its transparency: what is black becomes white and what is white becomes black. Grays
are assigned their mirror transparency. Click “Invert” again to turn off the feature. Performs the
same function as the Invert button. Refer to Section 5.4.1 and Figures 5.4.3 and 5.4.4.
Magnify
“Magnify” allows the user to magnify an area of interest. To use the Magnify feature, place the
mouse cursor over the desired area to be magnified and click the left mouse button. The area
of interest will be magnified. Click “Magnify” again to turn off the feature. Refer to Figure 5.4.23.
The size of the magnified area of interest can be adjusted by the user. Refer to the “Magnifie
r
Size” sub-menu in Section 5.4.3.
Edge Enhance
“Edge Enhance” will create a sharper definition around edges of regions with a contrast
difference. Edge Enhancement may amplify the noise in the images in general. Selecting the
menu item again will turn off the edge enhancement. Clicking on “Original Contrast” will also
restore the image back to its original state. Note this is a different feature that the Enhance
Image feature in Section 5.4.1 and 5.4.3.
ROI Contrarst
“ROI Contrast” will optimize the contrast levels within a user-defined region of interest (ROI).
A
fter selecting the “ROI Contrast” click and hold the left mouse button at the starting point o
f
the desired ROI, drag the mouse and release the mouse button at the desired ending point o
f
the ROI. The contrast will automatically adjust to the best levels for that ROI. (See the
Definitions section for ROI).
ROI Window Level
the “ROI Window Level” function is not available in the current version of Vision software.
