CONTROL
PANEL
Two
push
buttons,
DISPLAY
and
ENTER,
are
associated
with
the
CONTENTS
push
buttons.
CONTENTS
DISPLAY
This
button
is
effective
only
when
the
systeITl
is
in
the
STOP
ITlode.
When
the
CONTENTS
DISPLAY
button
is
depressed,
the
CONTENTS
indicators
display
the
character
in
the
ITlain
ITleITlory
location
specified
by
the
ITleITlory
address
register
{i.
e.,
the
ADDRESS
indicators}
with
any
accoITlpanying
punctuation
bits.
If
a
parity
failure
occurs
or
if
the
addressed
location
does
not
exist,
the
PARITY
indicator
is
illuITlinated.
The
PARITY
indicator
ITlay
be
reset
prior
to
perforITling
further
ITlanual
opera-
tions,
but
all
ITlanual
operations
except
BOOTSTRAP,
INSTRUCT,
and
RUN
ITlay
be
perforITled
while
the
PARITY
indicator
is
illuITlinated.

CONTENTS
ENTER
This
button
is
effective
only
when
the
systeITl
is
in
the
STOP
ITlode.
When
the
CONTENTS
ENTER
button
is
depressed,
the
character
and
the
punctuation
bits
displayed
in
the
CONTENTS
indicators
are
written
with
correct
parity
into
the
ITlain
ITleITlory
location
whose
address
is
displayed
in
the
ADDRESS
indicators.
The
previous
contents
of
the
ITlain ITleITlory
location
are
destroyed,
and
if
that
location
contained
incorrect
parity
before,
it
contains
correct
parity
after
the
ENTER
button
is
depressed.
However,
depressing
the
CONTENTS
ENTER
button
does
not
illuITlinate
or
turn
off
the
PARITY
indicator.
CONTROL
Push-Button
Indicators
These
four
push-button
indicators
display
the
octal
address
of
a
control
ITleITlory
register
as
a
binary
pattern
of
lights.
The
display
of
the
push
buttons
changes
only
when
they
are
de-
pressed.
Their
setting
can
be
altered
at
any
tiITle,
and
each
indicator
is
either
illuITlinated
or
turned
off
each
tiITle
it
is
depressed.
It
should
be
noted
that
the
CONTROL
buttons
have
no
role
while
the
prograITl
is
running,
and
their
display
is
not
affected
by
a
running
prograITl.
They
are
used
only
by
the
control
panel
itself
in
conjunction
with
the
following
associated
push
buttons.
