Typical redundant server system
About Backup Control Center (BCC)
Backup Control Center (BCC) is a licensed option of Experion that supports business
continuity. BCC allows more than one pair of redundant servers to be configured, with each
pair of servers associated with a server location. Each server location is identified by a
number and this number is used when specifying server host names to identify which server
location the server is associated with. For more information and examples, see “Naming rules
for computers.” Server location names can also incorporate a more descriptive name for clear
identification.
The location that includes the server currently acting as the primary server is considered the
active server location. The other server location is considered the backup server location.
In the figure below, if Server1B is acting as the primary server, Server Location 1 will be the
active server location and Server Location 0 will be the backup server location. Additionally,
Server1A, Server0A, and Server0B would be considered secondary (backup) servers.
