The
:WAVEFORM:FORMAT
command
sets
the
data
transmission
mode
for
waveform
data
output.
This
command
controk
how
the
data
is
formatted
on
the
HP-IB
when sent from
the HP
54501A.
When
the ASCII
mode
is
selected,
the
data
is
ASCII
digits
with
each data
value
separated
by a
comma.
WORD formatted data
transfers
as
16-bit binary integers
in
two
bytes,
with
the
most
significant
byte
of
each
word
sent
first.
BYTE
and
COMPRESSED
formatted data
is
transfered
as
8-bit
bytes.
The
FORMAT
query
returns
the
current
output format
for
transfer
of
waveform
data.
