Syntax
Diagrams
At
the
beginning
of each
of the
following
chapters
are
syntax
diagrams
showing
the
proper
syntax
for each
command.
All
characters
contained
in
a
circle
or
oblong
are
literals,
and
must
be
entered
exactly
as
shown.
Words
and
phrases
contained
in
rectangles
are names
of items
used
with
the
command
and
are
described
in
the
accompanying
text
of
each
command.
Each
line
can
only
be
entered
from
one
direction
as
indicated
by
the
arrow
on
the
entry
line.
Any
combination
of
commands
and
arguments
that
can
be
generated
by
following
the
lines in the
proper
direction
is
syntactically
correct.
An
argument
is optional if
there
is
a
path
around it.
Where
there
is
a
rectangle
which
contains
the
word
"space"
a
white
space character
must
be
entered.
White
space
is
optional
in
many
other
places.
