Instrument Specic Errors
These are error messages with positive error numbers
. They indicate errors such
as incompatible modes.
200 Not Attenuation Mode
This indicates that a command or query was received that cannot be executed
or answered in Power Mode (see \[:SOURce]:POWer:ATTenuation:AUTO" in
Chapter 5).
Command Errors
These are error messages in the range -100 to -199. They indicate that a syntax
error has been detected by the parser in a command, such as incorrect data,
incorrect commands, or misspelled or mistyped commands.
A command error is signaled by the command error bit (bit 5) in the event
status register.
-100 Command error.
This indicates that the parser has found a command
error but cannot be more specic.
-101 Invalid character.
The command contains an invalid or unrecognized
character.
-102 Syntax error.
The command or data could not be recognized.
-103 Invalid separator.
The parser was expecting a separator (for example,a
semicolon (;) between commands) but did not nd one.
-104 Data type error.
The parser was expecting one data type, but found
another (for example, was expecting a string, but received numeric data).
-105 GET not allowed.
A Group Execute Trigger was received within a
program message (see IEEE 488.2, 7.7)
-108 Parameter not allowed.
More parameters were received for a command
than were expected.
