zoning edit
Description Opens a Zoning Edit session for the non-volatile zoning database or merged zone set in which to
create and manage zone sets and zones.

Syntax
zoning edit [database]
Operands
[database]
Opens an edit session for the zoning database given by [database]. If you omit [database], an
edit session for the non-volatile zoning database is opened. Table 73 describes the zoning
database parameters

Parameter Description
configured Opens a zoning edit session for the non-volatile zoning database.
merged Opens a zoning edit session for the temporary, merged zone set received
from another switch.
Examples The following is an example of the zoning edit command:
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning edit
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #>
.
.
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoning save
The changes have been saved; however, they must be activated
before they can take effect -- see Zoneset Activate command.
