c) Firmly pull the controller release lever until the controller slides out of the chassis. Then place the controller on a flat
surface.
Important:
To avoid electrostatic damage, place array components on a grounded anti-static mat. Use an ESD wrist strap
during removal and replacement.
3. Remove the PCIe cage from the failed controller.
a) Loosen the bottom thumbscrew on the PCIe cage (item #3 in the figure in Step 2, above).
Important: For HPE Alletra 5010 or Nimble Storage AF20 and HF20 models you must also remove the
transparent controller shroud from the controller.

b) For HPE Alletra 5010 or Nimble Storage AF20 and HF20 models: Grasp both sides of the PCIe cage and lift the
cage out of the controller, making sure that the cage clears the guide pins and that both riser cards and the bridge
board connector are properly unseated.
