6.5B Replacing the chain catcher
A worn chain catcher must always be replaced with
a new one.

Release the brake by moving the kickback guard
backwards. Loosen the bar nut and remove the
clutch cover, saw chain and bar.

Loosen the screw and replace the chain catcher
with a new one as shown in Figure 19c. Tightening
torque 8-10 Nm.

6.5A Assembling the spike bumper
The spike bumper is not tted at the time of deliv-
ery. When a spike bumper is tted the rst time,
the washer tted above the limiter cap must be
removed. See Figure 19a.

Loosen the screws and remove the washer and
chain catcher. See Figure 19a.

Fit the spike bumper as outlined in Figure 19b.
Then t the saw chain, the bar and the clutch
cover.
