6.3. Dismantling the muffler

Release the brake by moving the front hand guard
backwards.
Loosen the bar nut and remove the clutch cover,
saw chain and bar.

Loosen the screw holding the front hand guard.
See Figure 11.

Pull the front hand guard out of its attachment. See
Figure 12

Loosen the screws as outlined in Figure 13.

Dismantle the oil pump cover by loosening the
screws as outlined in Figure 14.

Dismantle the starter and air guide rail. See
the ”Dismantling the starter” chapter for further
instructions.

Loosen the two screws for the mufer on the
bottom of the chain saw.

Lift up the front end of the cylinder cover no more
than 35 mm and carefully work the mufer off as
outlined in Figure 15.
