Mouse
This option shows if a mouse is installed.
Keyboard NumLock state
This option displays whether the NumLock function on
the keyboard turns on automatically each time you turn
your computer on. You can change this setting to On or
Off.
Keyboard speed
This option displays the speed at which your keyboard
responds when you hold down a key. The Normal rate is
10 characters per second. The Fast rate is 30 characters
per second.
If your keyboard speed is set for the Fast rate and you
hold down one of the arrow keys, the cursor moves
three times faster than it would if your keyboard speed
were set for the Normal rate. You can select the speed
that is most comfortable for you.
Changing Rapid Resume
features configuration
The Rapid Resume features are a set of IBM energy-
saving features that lets you set up your computer to
perform certain tasks unattended. For information about
these features and how to enable and disable them from
your desktop, see “Chapter 3: Understanding the Rapid
Resume features” on page 21.
The Setup Utility lets you configure additional settings
you cannot configure from your Windows 95 desktop.
From your desktop, you can enable and disable Rapid
Resume features and specify how they work. In the
Setup Utility, you can enable and disable some of the
same features and configure specific hardware settings.
The changes you make in the Setup Utility appear in the
Rapid Resume Manager windows on your desktop. The
changes you make in the Rapid Resume Manager
windows on your desktop also appear in the Setup
Utility.
From the Setup Utility Main Menu, select the Rapid
Resume option to view or change Rapid Resume
features settings. The Rapid Resume menu appears.
Note:
For Windows 95 systems, changes to the Wake Up on
Ring setting must be made in the Rapid Resume
Manager before they can take effect.
