Installing cache memory modules
You can install either 256 KB or 512 KB of cache memory
on your system board. If a 256 KB module is already
installed, you must remove it before you can install a
512 KB module.
Note:
Each cache memory module you install must have
these specifications: 160-pin; 64-bit; 256 KB (32 KB x 64)
or 512 KB (64 KB x 64); 9 nanosecond (ns); synchronous
pipeline burst SRAM.
Inserting a new module
To install a cache memory module into an empty socket,
follow these steps:
1. Locate the single cache memory module socket on
the system board.
