Monitoring memory usage on a file module
Use this procedure to monitor memory usage on a file module.
1. Login to the file module and issue command lsperfdata -g memory_free_usage
-t hour -n <node> | tail.
2. If the file module shows diminishing memory and is reaching full capacity,
initiate a file module reboot. See “Shut down or reboot a file module or
clustered system” in the IBM Storwize V7000 Unified Information Center.
Errors and messages
A variety of system errors and messages can indicate conditions that range from
simple typing errors to problems with system devices or programs.
Refer to the following topics for information on errors and messages.
Note: For reference or repair information on non-Storwize V7000 Unified
components, refer to the user documentation provided with those components.
Understanding error codes
The Storwize V7000 Unified error codes convey specific information in their
alphanumeric sequence.
Tip: Search for most error code or event IDs by using just the ID. For an ID of
66012FC, for example, just search on 66012FC. If you get an error code similar to
“01E0”, use wildcards and search on *01E0*. With 66012FC, you could use
wildcards and search on 66012* or, if you seek a much broader range of results, an
ID shortened to 66*. For IDs such as EFSSP1002C, do not search on the entire
string, but remove the “EFS” and search on “SP1002C” or, again, use wildcards
and search on a value such as *1002*.
