MEMORY OPERATION
■ Entering a Memory or Bank name
You can enter an alphanumeric name for each Memory chan-
nel, Call channel, and Bank.
Names can up to 6 characters.
•TheoperationsarefortheMAINband.
Select a Memory channel to enter a name. q
 •ToenteraBankname,selectaBankgroup.
Push [MW] w C to display the Memory entry screen.
Rotate [DIAL] e
S to select “EDIT.”
Push [ r ï]D.
Rotate [DIAL] t
S to select “NAME.”
 •ToenteraBankname,select“BNAME.”
Push [ y ï]D.
Rotate [DIAL] u
S to select a desired character or symbol.
(Example: A)

 •Push[CLR]D to delete the selected character or symbol.
 •Whennocharacterorsymbolisselected,push[≈](D) to enter
a space.
Push [ i Ω] to move the cursor backwards, or push [≈] to
move the cursor forwards.
Repeat steps o u and i to enter a name of up to 6 charac-
ters, including spaces.
!0 After entering, push [ï]D.
!1 Rotate [DIAL]
S to select “WRITE.”
!2 Push [ï]D.
 •Displays“OVERW?.”
!3 Rotate [DIAL]S to select “YES.”
!4 Push [ï]D.
 •Sounds beeps, writes the entered name to the channel, and
returns to the VFO mode.
For your reference: To display the entered name
Turn ON the “NAME” (Memory Name) item of EXMENU.
(MENU-EXMENU > EXMENU-DISP > DISP-NAME)
