- For that, bring the cutting head into a free position and activate the switch
/ for a short time.
- For lengthy cutting work, the water tank may need filling. When doing so, follow the
instructions under section see 2.3 “Device operation”.
2.7 Finishing work
- Position the stroke drive straight!
- Set the right-hand function switch to F3 / (automatic mode)!
- Pull the hose taut at the manhole to activate the reverse drive sensor!
- Drive backwards using the left-hand joystick!
- Always reverse under camera surveillance!
- Reel the hose up the drum immediately or afterwards, as required. Clean the hose
before reeling back up!
- When the cutter drive arrives at the manhole (red band on hose package appears on
the guide roller), use the left-hand joystick to stop, remove the guide rollers and pull the
cutter drive from the manhole. Do not kink hoses – remove strain relief as required.
- Insert cutter drive into auxiliary pipe!
- Check pressure monitoring functionality (see 5.3 Post-work inspection)
- In frost conditions, drain off all water; to do so, first open the ball valve carefully (do
NOT bend over the valve), so air can escape from the water tank. Then pull the
transparent water hose from the tank and let the water drain away/collect it as required.
Once water has drained off, re-attach the hose to blow out any residual water. To do
so, close the ball valve, open the ball valve on the drum (cutting air), press the camera
water flushing switch and let the cutter motor run until only dry air comes out of the
water jets on the cutter drive. Switch off the camera water flushing switch!
- Allow the air motor and tool to run on for approx. 20 seconds in order to blow out the
residual water from the cutter motor!
- Switch off the air motor and squirt two short jets of biodegradable oil (Ballistol –
www.ballistol-shop.de) into the exhaust air outlets of the air motor. Then switch the air
motor on again briefly (approx. 5 seconds). This prevents corrosion signs on the air
motor.
- Switch the compressor or the ball valve on the compressor OFF (before closing the ball
valve on the drum) to ensure the cutter is completely unpressurized.
- Once the cutter motor has come to a standstill, set the switch for the cutter motor on
the control unit to “0”, close the ball valve on the drum (do not forget this step, as
otherwise a risk of injury will exist when re-commissioning)!
- Now, the water tank is unpressurized. To check this, open the ball valve carefully.
Attention! Do not lean over the ball valve!
- Clean the cutter drive and the camera! (See 4.1 Cleaning and transport!)
- Unscrew the cutter drive from the hose package!
- If required, insert air gun into the separate air inlet on the drum!
- Re-open the ball valve on the compressor or switch the compressor on again!
- Carefully vent the connectors and bushings on the cutter drive/hose package
couplings!
- Switch off the compressor and use the air gun to completely vent compressed air from
the compressor hose!
