5.3 Post-work inspection
You must test pressure monitoring unit functionality again after completing cutting work.
1.) Charge the device with 0.9 (max. 0.99) bar of nitrogen (LED must flash 6 x)!
2.) You must then discharge the nitrogen from the device (depress the nitrogen valve until the
nitrogen has escaped and repeat after 1 minute). The lights must flash 4 x.
3.) Now check for compressed air leakage (let the cutter motor run inside the pipe for approx.
3 minutes)
Lights flash 4 x: Device is leak-tight for compressed air
Lights flash 6 x / do not flash: Device is leaking compressed air
In all cases of leakage, contact the service shop. Continuing with your work may severely
damage the device!
Recharge the cutter with nitrogen if the device is leak-tight (see 5.4 Nitrogen charging)!
5.4 Nitrogen charging
As a rule:
- Use dry nitrogen only!
- Never replenish nitrogen if the valve is wet (water infiltrates the cutter)
- Always screw down the valve cap after charging!
- Work with externally dry charge fittings only!
- Charge nitrogen in a dry environment only!
The nitrogen internal pressure must be between 0.4 and 0.6 bar. To perform charging, use
either an existing nitrogen kit and a car tyre charge adapter together with the optionally
available valve extender (IMS order number 021 01 059) or the IMS nitrogen kit (IMS order
number 015 04 000 ā includes a nitrogen bottle with pressure reducer and IMS charging
apparatus). Nitrogen must be charged at a dry location.
