1. Charging with a valve extension and one´s own nitrogen equipment:
First, set the correct pressure at the pressure reducer (0.5 bar) and check it by briefly
attaching to the valve extender (not screwed on). The pressure must readjust itself to
0.5 bar once the valve extender has been removed. The cutter drive valve cap is then
unscrewed and the valve extender screwed on.
Now, the charging device is set onto the nitrogen valve. The charge process is
completed after several seconds. The charging apparatus and valve extender can now
be removed and the valve cap screwed back on.
2. Charging with the IMS charging apparatus:
First, set the correct pressure at the pressure reducer (0.5 bar) by briefly depressing
the plunger on the charging device. Pressure drops briefly. The pressure must then
readjust itself to 0.5 bar. After this, unscrew the valve cap and place the charging
apparatus onto the valve. The charge process is completed after several seconds.
The charging apparatus can now be removed and the valve cap screwed back on.
Positive pressure in the module´s interior compartment prevents moisture ingress. Nitrogen
has the additional property of being drier than air. As a result, moisture in the air can be
absorbed, which works against the development of corrosion.
