User Guide - v7 47
for example, Profile 2 has a higher priority than Profile 1. When a profile activation event
occurs, the current active profile is re-evaluated and may change.
The profiles themselves, bit-rate, frame-rate etc., are defined in the Encoder menu.
Scheduled The active profile can be changed for the period of time defined here. Select
the Enable box to activate this setting. You must specify the start time for Profile 1 (Day) and
the start time of the other selected profile.
Binary Input The active profile can be changed in response to a binary input. For each
input, you can enable a profile to be used when the pin goes high or when a pin goes low.
Select the Enable box to activate the setting.
For a given pin, if only the High or Low profile option is used, then a hold time can be
specified. In this case, when the pin activates, the profile switches and stays active for the
hold period unless another activation of a higher priority profile occurs in the meantime.
Encoder
This section describes the parameters available in the Encoder menu. The parameters
available change depending on the variant.
Each encoder has its own menu for individual configuration, for example, Encoder 1 or 2.
Each encoder operates on the same image, but can encode it with different settings.
Profile Select the profile you want to view or edit. The active profile is indicated next to the
profile name. The active profile can be automatically changed based on the settings in the
Profiles menu.
Changes made to any profile other than the active profile will not come into effect until the
encoder switches to that profile.
Bit Rate Reduction Filter Specifies the input video filters. Selecting a stronger filter
results in less bandwidth at the expense of reduced sharpness.
Resolution Displays the resolution of the video from the encoder.
Depending on the resolution selected, a number of streams are presented.
Choose from the following options:
SIF - 3 streams (352 x 240) NTSC (352 x 288) PAL
2SIF - 2 stream (704 x 240) NTSC (704 x 288) PAL
4SIF - 1 stream (704 x 480) NTSC (704 x 576) PAL
Comment Add a comment to help identify the stream, if required.
Bit Rate Enter the target video bit rate you want to use.
Rate Control Where available, choose from CBR (Capped Bit Rate) or ACF (Activity
Controlled Frame Rate).
CBR attempts to cap the bit rate to the target bit rate, regardless of activity.
ACF increases the bit rate when activity is detected by the selected analytics filter. Analytics
filters are defined on the Analytics page.
Using ACF/ACF+ allows video to be transmitted at a reduced frame rate when there is little or
no activity, saving bandwidth and recording disk space.
