User Guide - v7 53
Multicast Address You can normally leave this address unchanged. However, you may
change it to any valid multicast address if the default is not suitable or if it conflicts with
another multicast address.
Multicast Video and Audio Port You can normally leave these port numbers unchanged.
However, you may change them to any valid port numbers if the defaults are not suitable.
Multiple Transmitters devices may share the same port numbers.
IP MTU Enter the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) of the network infrastructure. The
default value is suitable for Ethernet links. Consult your network administrator to check if a
different value would improve network performance.
IP TOS/DSCP Enter the required value to specify either the IP Type of Service (TOS), or
the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP).
This must be supported by the rest of the network infrastructure, so consult with your network
administrator to ensure that Quality of Service is supported by your network. Where
supported, they will also be able to advise on the appropriate value to use.
To assist with configuration, the TOS and DSCP bits corresponding to the value you have
entered are displayed in the fields below.
If unsure, do not change this value from the default value of zero, otherwise the performance
of the network may be compromised.
Bandwidth Manager If using IndigoVision's Bandwidth Manager as part of the overall
system, the IP address of the Bandwidth Manager should be entered and Bandwidth
Management enabled. The encoder will then check with the Bandwidth Manager if enough
network bandwidth is available before starting the video streams. For further information
consult the IndigoVision Bandwidth Manager Administrators Guide available on the Control
Center CD.
Currently TCP Streams are independent of Bandwidth Management and should not be used
as part of the Bandwidth Management system.
Advanced Encoder Parameters Select to allow the encoder quantization parameters
(Advanced Encoder Parameters) to be modified from the Encoder menu.
Selecting this option also increases the upper limit of the encoder bitrate from 4Mbps to
6Mbps.
Modification of the quantization parameters is only required under special circumstances,
typically in transmitting video over a low bandwidth link. Any modification of these
parameters should be made under advice from IndigoVision partner support.
Network Security
This page allows you to specify which network devices are authorized to access the device.
These are normally PCs used as receivers, hardware receivers, and PCs used to configure
the device using the web configuration.
When specifying which PCs may access the device, make sure that you enter the address of
the PC being used to configure the device before enabling IP address restrictions, otherwise
your own access will be prevented.
