2-4.2 Remote Replication
Replication capability allows users to create full data copies across storage systems or within a single
storage system in synchronous or asynchronous mode. If the source data fails due to system malfunctions
or disasters, users can leverage the disk-based remote copy to restart services in a few minutes. If the
source needs to resume its role, it can quickly be synced with the remote copy while adjusting only for
differences.
Note!
 Remote Replication can only be established on iSCSI protocol.
 Remote Replication is license required feature, enable the license at Infortrend official website >
Product Service > License Service to download the license and upload to both source and target GS
model via Central EonOne.
 To perform the remote replication, you must login Central EonOne and add both source and target GS
for centralized management purpose and operate the setting configuration, Remote replication cannot
be done through embedded EonOne.
 The following content includes the brief operation steps for Remote Replication feature. For more
detailed information about Remote Replication, please refer to a Remote Replication Application note.
1. Select the source GS, go to Settings > Scheduling & Backup > Replication
2. Click Volume replication and create a replication pair.
3. You can test the connection between source and target GS before setting up the replication pair.
