2-4.3 Automated Storage Tiering
Storage Tiering prioritizes storage blocks into different categories, referred to as storage tiers, which
provide various levels of performance and capacity based on price/performance considerations,
performance/bandwidth demands, frequency of use, and other criteria.
Note!
Automated Storage Tiering is a feature that requires a license. Enable the license at Infortrend official
website > Product Service > License Service by downloading the license and uploading it to the GS
model.
Automated Storage Tiering function must be enabled when creating the pool.
The following content includes the brief operation steps for Automated Storage Tiering feature. For
more detail information about Automated Storage Tiering, please refer to Automated Storage Tiering
Application note.
9. Create at least 2 LDs when creating a pool.
10. Enable the storage tiering and click Storage tiering settings.
11. Select the Tier index for each LD in the storage tiering settings page.
