3.1.4 Insulation Test
The AC drive has been tested for insulation between the main circuit and the housing at
the factory. Therefore, do not perform any withstand voltage and insulation resistance
tests on the AC drive again. Check insulation of the motor and motor cables according
to the following steps:
1) Check that the motor cables are connected to the motor and they are disconnected
from the drive output terminals (U, V, W).
2) Measure the insulation resistance between each phase cable and PE cable with 500
VDC applied. For details about the insulation resistance of the motor, see the motor
manufacturer's user guide.

High ambient humidity inside the motor cabinet will reduce the insulation
resistance. If the insulation resistance does not meet requirements, reduce
the ambient humidity inside the motor cabinet and then measure the
insulation resistance again.
