3.4.14 DataLink
The operator can use Datalink (Figure 3.4-16) to perform the ENG tests (Spontaneous Nystagmus, Dix-Hallpike,
Positional, Calorics, Gaze, Smooth Pursuit, Random Saccade, Saccadometry, Optokinetic, SHA, Step Velocity,
VOR Supression and Visual VOR) using electrodes. These options are controlled with the licenses. Patients who
cannot be tested with the video goggles may be candidates for ENG tests. The DataLink is the component that
receives the patient data (eye position) via electrode recording and sends to the computer via USB. Electrode
lead wires are connected to the EOG Patient Cable that connects to the back of the DataLink.

3.5 System configuration
3.5.1 Systems configured without a rotational chair
Hardware components will typically connect to the computer via USB. If the goggles use FireWire® cameras, the
goggles will connect to a FireWire® plug-in card on the back of the mid-tower. The TV will connect via a HDMI
cable to the back of the computer (which may require an adapter cable).
