4.9 Cameras disconnecting
If unusual behavior is experienced such as camera images dropping out and not coming back, USB device
disconnects, or software not running as expected, perform the follow sequence to recover:
- Shut down the VisualEyes™ software completely.
- Unplug the main USB cable from the computer and leave it unplugged for 20 seconds.
- Plug the main USB cable back into the computer.
- Once all the USB devices have been initialized, restart the VisualEyes™ software.
4.10 System shutdown
4.10.1 Turn off computer
Firstly, close the VisualEyes™ software by returning to the main screen and selecting the Exit button. Close
the OtoAccess® Database software. Shut down the computer using Start > Shut down.
4.10.2 Turn off stimulus
Turn off the TV using the remote control. Turn off the projector with the power button on the remote control
and follow the instructions on the projection image.
4.10.3 Turn off accessories
If the Orion Reclining Chair or Nydiag 200 Reclining Chair is used, turn off the power switch in the base of the
chair. Turn the VORTEQ
TM
IMU off if applicable. If the System 2000 chair is used, turn off the power to the
chair controller using the power switch on the back of the controller. If the DataLink is used, turn off the power
using the power switch on the back of the device. If the Air Fx air irrigator or Aqua Stim water irrigator is used,
verify the irrigator is in the standby state first, then switch off the irrigator from the power switch on the back of
the irrigator. If the observation camera is used, turn off the observation monitor.
4.10.4 Turn off power sources
Laptop systems should have the USB hub power disconnected either from the hub or by turning off the power
strip that powers the hub. This will remove power from the cameras when not in use. Isolation transformers
should be turned off using the power switch after any other devices have been powered off.
