4 Operating instructions
4.1 System startup
4.1.1 Turn on power sources
Ensure that the laptop/PC systems and USB hub are power connected. Isolation transformers should be
turned on using the power switch in case Orion rotational chair (R/AT/C) is in use.
4.1.2 Turn on accessories
Goggles: Ensure that the goggle cameras (binocular or monocular) are connected to the computer, USB hub
or rotational chair, depending on the license/choice of the operator.
Chair: Ensure that the rotational chair is power connected and that the power switch is turned on. The power
switch is located on the back of the chair controller for System 2000 chairs (R/AT/C) and at the base of all
other kinds of rotational chairs. Turn on the observation monitor if the observation camera is used for AT/C
chairs.
Emergency button: Ensure that the Emergency Stop button is disengaged (turn clockwise to disengage the
button).
DataLink: If the DataLink is used for ENG evaluations, turn on the power using the power switch on the back
of the device.
VORTEQ
TM
IMU / VLink (head rotational rate sensor): Ensure that the VORTEQ
TM
IMU/VLink is connected
and powered via USB hub.
Caloric Irrigators: Ensure that the irrigator (Air Fx air irrigator/Aqua Stim water irrigator) is turned on using
the power switch on the back of the irrigator (Please refer to user manual of irrigators for detailed instruction
for operation).
4.1.3 Turn on stimulus then computer
Switch on the TV or projector using its power button. Then, turn on the computer and ensure that the
TV/projector stimulus is configured as a second display.
4.2 Entering patient information
Please refer to the OtoAccess® Database Instructions for Use on how to enter/access the patient
information.
4.3 Starting the VisualEyes™ software
Launch the VisualEyes™ software from OtoAccess® Database.
4.4 Room recording
The operator can set up a room video recording on the computer’s main screen to record and save the
patient session during patient interview and test procedures. The operator can also pause and restart the
recording as many times as he/she wishes. Refer to section 5.1 of ’Additional Information’ to know more
detail.
