10 TROUBLESHOOT
Belt Splicing System v.2.0

Heat Wand never reaches setpoint or varies erratically
Connection problem 1. Ensure equipment and facility voltage matches.
2. Disconnect and reconnect all connections inspecting for damage. See Make Power Connec-
tions on page 3-3.
3. Set Control Box Power to on.
Internal damage Contact Intralox Technical Support for help.
Heat Wand Temperature drops > 20°F/12ºC when out of Stand
Facility too cold
High airflow in area
1. Increase facility temperature in splicing area if possible (above 40ºF/4ºC preferred)
2. Reduce air flow in splicing area if possible.
3. Shield splicing area from air flow with cardboard or similar.
4. Hold the Heat Wand in a controlled location outside of the Stand until it stabilizes at set point
before splicing.
5. Contact Intralox Technical Support for help.
Clamping Fixture not operating smoothly/easily
Mechanical problem 1. Remove visible debris from spring assemblies.
2. Apply gear lubricant to the moving parts at springs and linear bearings.
3. Contact Intralox Technical Support about bearing replacements or repair of bent frame,
Grooved Decks, or bearing shafts.
NOTE
Do not disassemble the Clamping Fixture assembly. All components above are accessible
through Clamping Fixture openings. Attempts to cut, drill, or otherwise modify any
mechanical components voids the warranty.
Clamping Fixture not opening completely
Tool or clamp obstructing movement Ensure the Crank Handle can rotate 360º. Move any obstructions.
Mechanical damage Contact Intralox Technical Support about possible bent components: Clamping Fixture frame,
Grooved Decks, bearing shafts, or spring linkage.
