Belt Splicing System v.2.0
Symptom & Possible Causes Action to Take
Clamping Fixture metal pads do not touch when closed
Fixture closed improperly 1. Lock the Clamping Fixture closed.
2. Open the Clamping Fixture completely.
3. Repeat the inspection steps. See Ensure the tether and fastener face outward. on page 3-3.
Internal damage Contact Intralox for help.
FABRICATION TIP
Splicing with this issue can result in incorrect drive bar pitch.
Clamping Fixture does not stay closed unless locked
Belt tension too high 1. Clamp belt to conveyor frame near Clamping Fixture to eliminate pull on belt ends.
2. Adjust conveyor components to minimize tension.
Belt Tabs Lost/Missing
Belt Tabs lost or discarded Make additional Belt Tabs from available belt material. See Make Belt Tabs on page 11-1.

Table of Preparing and Aligning Belt Ends Problems
Belt end not square (i.e., not perpendicular to belt top surface)
Repeat belt end preparation with attention to the following.
Cut technique Hold blade vertically against Cut Guide Edge for entire cut.
Make several identical, scoring cuts, NOT one deep cut.
Trim tool wear/damage Inspect knife for blade damage/wear. Repair/replace as needed.
