Section 7 System Recharge and Reset
NOTE: In any of the following steps, prior to replacing o-rings ensure that o-ring grooves are clean and
free of all foreign materials and dry chemical powder.
4. If using the Valve Rebuild Kit (Mv - P/N 19019 / Lv - P/N 19020), skip to step 11. Otherwise, mount
the piston key (Mv - P/N 97608 / Lv - P/N 97607) into a vise and then place the piston onto the piston
key.
5. Wipe piston clean of all foreign materials including dry chemical powder prior to lubrication and new
o-ring placment.
6. Use a pin-style spanner wrench (Mv - P/N 99526 / Lv - P/N 99525) to remove the piston cap by
turning it counter-clockwise.
7. Replace the lower piston O-ring (Mv - P/N 18476 / Lv - P/N 18399) around the piston cap.
8. Reinstall the piston cap using the piston key and spanner wrench. Tighten until the cap bottoms out
on the piston body.
9. Remove the upper piston O-ring on the piston body and discard.
10. Lubricate the new upper piston O-ring (Mv - P/N 18475 / Lv - P/N 18398) with Molykote 55 by Dow
Corning (P/N 19056) and install the new upper piston O-ring onto the piston body.
11. Lightly lubricate the internal valve bore with Molykote 55 by Dow Corning (P/N 19056) and insert the
valve piston into the valve body.
12. Remove the valve cap O-ring and discard.
13. To prevent damage to the new valve cap O-ring (Mv - P/N 18399 / Lv - P/N 18397) during installation
cover the threads of the valve cap with masking tape.
14. Lightly lubricate the new valve cap O-ring with Molykote 55 by Dow Corning (P/N 19056) and install
on the valve cap.
