• The focus lock function can be also used (see page 37).
• Even after taking a picture. The digital zoom is not cancelled. To cancel the
digital zoom function, press and hold the key until the indicator disap-
pears or turn off and on the camera again.
* The image recorded with the digital zoom function is trimmed in 640 X 480 pixels. Therefore, the
recorded image is smaller when displaying it on your computer or printing out it with fixing the print
resolution.
DIGITAL ZOOM
The digital zoom function can increase the maximum magnification (about 24 mm) of the optical zoom
lens (114 mm in the 35 mm film format equivalent) up to 2 times.

In the recording mode, press the key in the recording
mode so that the image is zoomed to the maximum.

Press and hold the key for more than 2 seconds.
• The digital zoom function is set.
• The indicator that shows the image range appears on the LCD monitor as
shown in the figure left below. When the indicator appears, remove your fin-
ger from the key.
• The digital zoom function cannot be set when the LCD monitor is turned off.
