Command Reference
PT
The PT command sets the hold time, pulse width, and pulse period for a pulse
source set by the PI, PV, PWI or PWV command. This command also sets the
trigger delay time. Measurement channel performs measurement so that the pulse
width and pulse period are kept. The integration time is automatically set by the
instrument, and you cannot change. For the Keysight E5270B, note that the
high-resolution ADC cannot be used for the pulsed measurements. The
AAD/AIT/AV/WT command settings are ignored.
Syntax For pulsed spot measurements:
PT hold,width[,period[,Tdelay]]
For pulsed sweep or staircase sweep with pulsed bias measurements:
PT hold,width,period[,Tdelay]
Parameters hold : Hold time (in seconds). Numeric expression. 0 to 655.35 sec. 10 ms
resolution. Initial setting = 0.
width : Pulse width (in seconds). Numeric expression. 0.5 ms to 2.0 s. 0.1 ms
resolution. Initial setting = 1 ms.
period : Pulse period (in seconds). Numeric expression. 0, or 5 ms to 5.0 s. 0.1
ms resolution. Initial or default setting = 10 ms.
Restrictions:
• period ≥ width +2 ms (for width ≤ 100 ms)
• period ≥ width +10 ms (for width > 100 ms)
If you set period =0, the pulse period is automatically set as follows.
• period = 5 ms (for width ≤ 3 ms)
• period = width +2 ms (for 3 ms < width ≤ 100 ms)
• period = width +10 ms (for width > 100 ms)
If you do not specify period, 0 sec is set.
Tdelay : Trigger output delay time (in seconds). Numeric expression. 0 to width
sec. 0.1 ms resolution. Default setting = 0.
This parameter is the time from pulse leading edge to timing of trigger
output from a trigger output terminal. If you do not specify Tdelay, 0 is
set.
