JUMP STARTING
3. Put on safety goggles and rubber
gloves.
4. Place the battery hole caps to
proper position.
5. Attach the red clamp to the posi
-
tive terminal of the dead battery,
and attach the other end to the
positive terminal of the helper bat-
tery.
6. Clamp the black cable to the En-
gine hooks, and attach the oth-
er end to the negative cable of the
helper battery.
7. If the helper battery is in anoth-
er vehicle, do not allow the trac-
tor and the other vehicle to touch.
Start the vehicle's engine after
connecting the cables and let it
run for a few moments. Turn off
all accessories on both vehicles.
Then start the disabled tractor.
8. Disconnect the battery cables in
the exact opposite order as they
were attached.
When jump starting the engine, fol-
low the instructions below to safely
start the engine.
1. Use a battery of the same volt-
age as the disabled tractor to jump
start the tractor. Locate the good
battery in a safe place where the
jumper cables will reach.
2. Engage the parking brake of the
tractor and shift the transmission
gear to neutral position.
Connect cables in numerical order. Disconnect
in reverse order after use.

(3) Helper Battery

WARNING
Keep sparks, open ames and
smoking materials away from
batteries at all times. Gases
emitted from batteries are ex-
plosive.
IMPORTANT
This tractor has a 12 volt nega-
tive ground starting system.
Use only the same voltage for
jump starting the tractor.
The use of a higher voltage
system for jump starting can
cause severe damage to the
tractors electrical system.
Use only a matching voltage
source when “Jump Starting”
a dead battery.
