OPERATING ON A SLOPES AND
ROUGH TERRAIN
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
Always back up when going
up a steep slope. Driving for-
ward could cause the tractor
to tip over backward. Stay off
hills and slopes too steep for
safe operation.
Avoid changing gears when
cl imb ing or d e sc e nd i ng a
slope.
If operating on a slope, never
disengage the clutch or shift
levers to neutral. Doing so
could cause loss of control.
Do not drive the tractor close
to t h e edges of d i t c h e s or
banks which may collapse un-
der the weight of the tractor.
Especially when the ground is
loose or wet.
You should make sure that the warn-
ing lamps and SMV sign are clean
and visible at all times. If you are
towing rear mounted equipment or
implements you will need to install
the warning lamps and SMV sign on
the equipment.

CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
To help assure straight line
stops when driving at trans-
port speeds, lock the brake
pedals together. Uneven brak-
i ng a t r o a d s p e e ds c o u l d
cause the tractor to roll-over.
When traveling on road with
3-point hitch mounted imple-
ment attached, be sure to have
sufficient front weight on the
tractor to maintain steering
ability.
