1.3.9.2. Construction of a PGS cable
To construct a PGS cable with connectors the following material is necessary:
1. One cat5 UTP cable (8 wires in 4 twisted pairs; see below) or a 6-wired flat cable .
2. Tw UTP (RJ45) crimp-installation-plugs
3. One crimp tool (tongs) for above mentioned plugs and a knife
STEP 1
Left a cat5 UTP 8-wired cable with 4 twisted pairs: (twisted pair cable).
– pair 1: White-Bleu & Bleu
– pair 2: White-Orange & Orange
– pair 3: White-Green & Green
– pair 4: White-Brown & Brown
STEP 2 ATTENTION: DON’T STRIP THE WIRES
Now the PGS cable is constructed together. For a UniDrive
TM
PGS the connectors must be
constructed on both sides of the cable as shown:
1: Orange-White
2: Orange
3: Green-White
4: Bleu
5: Bleu-White
6: Green
7: Brown-White
8: Brown
STEP 3 ATTENTION: DON’T STRIP THE WIRES
Next the wires are pushed into the plugs as above-mentioned order and as shown on the left.
(connector with the backside to the front and wire # 1 [Orange/White] most to the left)
For round cables:
Wire length is MAX 13mm to ensure the isolation underneath the connector..
For flat cables:
Use the tongs to remove the isolation and to crimp the connector to the cable.
STEP 4 ATTENTION: DON’T STRIP THE WIRES
Check the cables on the right order before using the tongs.
If o.k. use the UTP tongs to fasten the connector to the cable.
Repeat step 1 - 3 for the other side of the cable.
