KONE UniDrive
TM
service manual vs 9 27
2.2.14. Winter opening position
When the selection winter position opening is set, either by use of the Program switch or programmable input, the
UniDrive
TM
will open the door only until the selected winter opening position is reached.
The UniDrive
TM
will only open at the maximum opening width when Delay Winter-position is counted to 0, (and
not set to be 0 sec), every 25th opening movement when spring cord is selected (to test motor control system), or
the selection is undone by the user.
Except from Delay Winter-position timer, software can not overrule this setting.
Winter opening width = minimum 600 mm. (single) or 900 mm. (double).
Remember that the Delay Winter-position timer is disabled when partially open is selected.
Open position in winter-mode can be set from 0-100%, where 0% is 600 mm for double doors and 100% the
maximum open position.
2.2.15. Battery unit
This unit consists of a battery board, and 3 battery’s 12V 0.8 Ah.
The battery set is tested, approximately one minute after the UniDrive
TM
is switched on.
When the door is opened by a valid open command, the door will open on battery power, presses in its end position
for about 15 sec, then close on battery-power.
This is visible as different behaviour of the door operator but it is a normal test procedure..
When the door is not opened by a valid open-command or is not allowed to close, the door is pressed into its end
position (either in open- or in closed position) for about 20 sec.
After that, the test is repeated every 4 or 24 hours. (Programmable by Psion).
A failure in battery capacity is signalled in the control box service display, the buzzer, and on the PGS (special sign
of a key ). By using the Psion programmer, the battery error can be signalled only.
When the user has selected the open-movement on battery failure, the door can only be closed, by selecting the
closed position on the Program switch. The closing speed is carried out in slow speed to indicate the re-warning.
Pressing the RESET button will clear the warning and the UniDrive
TM
can operate normally (and charge the
battery) for 50 minutes. After that the battery is tested again.
When no battery unit is used, a wire link must be present on the connector on the control unit (see 1.2.1)
2.2.16. Battery pack
Only one battery, mounted on the battery board, used to open the sliding door ones, directly at power failure. Door
weight and used door-type are limited.
Only a locking device which is powerless unlocked can be used.
The battery pack is tested, approximately one minute after the UniDrive
TM
is switched on and repeated every 24 or
4 hours, depends on programmable setting by Psion.
During this test the voltage of the battery is monitored. When a failure is detected during the test, the test stops.
A failure in battery capacity is signalled in the control box service display, and on the electronic Program switch.
This warning can reset itself, when the minimum battery capacity is reached.
In this stage, the test frequency is increased to 50 minutes test. When a failure is detected during the test, the test
stops. In case of a battery failure, the user has the ability to overrule the default error open or close state.
In this case only PGS and service display signal the battery error.
No further changes are made in door behaviour.
When the user has selected the open-movement on battery failure, the door can only be closed, by selecting the
closed position on the Program switch.
The door closing cycle will be carried out in slow speed to indicate the warning again.
Pressing the RESET button will clear the warning and the UWS can operate normally (and charge the battery) for
50 minutes. After that the battery is tested again.
When no battery unit is used, a wire link must be present on the connector on the UniDrive
TM
control unit.
