VARIATION Button
In Factory Multis, the VARIATION button will typically enable an additional layer or eect
for the Program in some Zones. e name of the current assignment for each Zone is shown
in the Display when the button is pressed. e VARIATION button can be enabled or
disabled for each Zone in Multi Edit Mode.
Pads
In Factory Multis, the 16 Pads are typically assigned to play notes or chords, or to mute steps
in Arpeggiator or CC Sequencer patterns. e Pads can also be assigned to behave as switches
to control Multi parameters. Pad assignments can be adjusted for each Zone in Multi Edit
Mode.
Ribbon Controller
In most Factory Multis the Ribbon controls pitch bend by default. To use the Ribbon
controller, press it and slide your nger left and right to change the value. e assignment
can be adjusted in Multi Edit Mode.
In most Factory Multis, the Ribbon is assigned to the Aux pitch bend parameter by default.
e Ribbon will bend the pitch up or down from the current pitch, no matter where the
ribbon is pressed. When the Ribbon is released, the pitch will return to a value of 64 (no
pitch bend).
For more Ribbon options, use Multi Edit Mode, and edit the Ribbon settings on the Multi
Edit Controls page. You can congure the Ribbon to have one control section that runs its
entire length, or to have three sections of equal length. e Ribbon sends its highest values
when pressed at the right hand side, and lowest at the left hand side. When you congure the
Ribbon to have three sections, each section sends its highest values at the end closest to the
right hand side. You can also congure the Ribbon to send values dierently based on where
it is rst pressed (Relative or Absolute), and to return to a center value or not when released
(Spring On or O). For details see Continuous Controllers on page 7-16.
